We're starting a new series here we're calling HDco Biz Bomb. We'll be dropping some knowledge bombs on the whole running-your-own-biz gig. Stay tuned for our upcoming Biz Bomb video series featuring interviews of clients and other business owners, managers and operators who are nailing this entrepreneur deal.
To kick off the series, I want to share my 5 biggest misconceptions about running your own business in a brand new video. Before founding Hoot, I worked at a big class-act agency in Chicago and, let me tell you, my expectations of being my own boss were a far cry from the reality of operating a successful full-scale marketing agency.
Now I want to share my experiences with other business owners and start a dialogue. Let's see what we can learn from each other to make our businesses stronger.
So let's jump right in, shall we? Prepare for a biz bomb!
My 5 biggest misconceptions about running your own business:
I've learned a lot in my 6+ years of owning and operating Hoot. There have been ups, downs, and everything you can imagine in between. But you know what? I've made it through by learning from my past mistakes and refocusing my business mindset.
What did I miss? What was one of your biggest misconceptions before becoming an entrepreneur? And what's the most valuable lesson you've learned in your professional career?
I know you've got killer insights, so share them! Leave us your thoughts in the comments below, connect with us on Facebook, or tweet me @hootdesignco. Come on, we want to hear YOUR perspective: let's get the ball rolling and build stronger businesses together.
