Lo & Behold is probably one of the most fun brands we've ever worked on. Since last November we've been working with Lauren Swartz, wonder of Lo & Behold, to develop and perfect the Lo & Behold brand. I caught up with Lauren to interview her about her company, business tips, and what she REALLY thinks about working with us (hint: it's good news).
Hey Lauren! Describe your business for us:
Lo & Behold is a boutique located at 1013 E Walnut St #100 in the North Village Arts District. We sell clothing and accessories that inspire us.
What's your business background?
I have a BS in Business and I previously owned a coffee shop in my hometown.
What is your favorite thing about owning a small business?
I love working for myself. There is nothing comparable to having a dream and then manifesting that into a reality. There is something to be said about creating a life for oneself that at one time was only a vision.
Who is your target market or ideal customer?
My Ideal customer is an adult career woman, late 20's or 30's. She is invested in the design and quality of clothing. She is a cultured, educated woman, with a genuine appreciation for art and aesthetics. She is a “free spirit”, a woman with an independent mind who dresses however she sees fit. She is continuously expanding her cultural horizons, whether it be through travel, reading, or even just going to the movies.
What do you hope to (or what have you) achieved with your branding materials?
Our goals are to build brand awareness, to create a memorable brand, to stand out and to develop a consistent voice for the store.
What has Hoot Design Co. done for your company? Why would you recommend them to other companies looking start a new brand or rebrand?
Hoot Design has built us an extremely strong and consistent imagine for the store. From our logo to our website to our print - everything is consistently on brand - the tone, the style and the personality .
"Hoot has managed to capture the very essence of Lo & Behold and turn it into
a visual voice."
I would recommend Hoot to any company that was looking for a unique and beautiful brand for their business. I believe brand consistency is an absolute necessity in today’s world where marketing stretches across so many mediums. Standardizing my brand helps me to build relationships and earn customers’ trust over time. Customers are more likely to choose brands they are more familiar with - the best way to achieve that familiarity is to have clearly identifiable messaging so that there is no confusion about your company.
Oh, and Kristen is really fun to hang out with!
That's right: it's been confirmed, folks. Kristen really IS fun to hang out with.
