Not too long ago, Jessica contacted me about doing a custom print for her unborn baby's nursery. I was a little hesitant because I have never done a baby print NOT using the alphabet. There is a process I use to make the Simply Baby and Simply Yours Custom Prints that lends itself to the pattern of the alphabet. I think to most people it looks like I threw a bunch of type up on a wall, but really there is a strict process I follow using only two fonts!

But Jessica and her hubby seemed very cool, and were very open to anything I would come up with, knowing it wouldn't look exactly like the alphabet prints they had seen online. They also wanted to use song lyrics from the David Bowie song, Kooks.

So I was stumped. I knew it wouldn't look like the mash-up alphabet print, but I wanted to make it look as similar as possible because that is what Jessica was "buying" from me. After some playing around with the type, some illustrations and color...this is what happened. I think it turned out pretty well:) And any baby growing up with David Bowie artwork is bound to be a stud. Thanks Jessica and fam! Hope we get to do a Follow the Print with you soon! Love KGB.
